We jump right into the show.  No chit-chat, just right to the good stuff!

Main Discussion:

The three of us discuss the areas of health, money, and life that we slack on during this time of year.

Many people, including us, have used the phrase “after the holidays” as an excuse to live poorly from October through November.  We have a conversation about what these things are, why this happens, and what we can do about it.

Action Items/Talking Points:

We thoroughly cover what end of year moves to make in the following areas:

  • Health
    • Learn to say no.
    • Plan your events and limit them to the ones that really matter.
    • Make intentional decisions about what to eat/drink when there.
    • Eat before you go.
    • Use a small plate and make good choices.
    • Bring a healthy option.
    • Share your health goals with other people.
    • Don’t wait for the New Year to start your health goal.  Start today.
  • Money
    • Be honest about your financial situation.
    • If you have a lot of bad debt, you can’t afford an expensive holiday.
    • Create a regular and holiday budget.
    • Gifts don’t make the holiday “special.”
    • Stay off of social media.
  • Home
    • This is a good time of year to declutter.
    • For everything that comes in, get things out.
    • Use the declutter as a way to teach your kids about giving.
  • Relationships
    • Spend time with the people who make you happy.
    • Cut the cord on bad relationships before the holiday.
    • Don’t stay with someone through the holidays just to avoid awkward conversations.
    • You don’t have to like your family and you don’t have to spend time with them if you don’t like them.
  • Work
    • Ask for a raise now.
    • This is the budget season so ask before Jan 1.
